Goose Green Cottage, Ebrington, Cotswolds

Goose Green Cottage is a traditional thatched country cottage boasting many period features such as exposed beamed ceilings and walls. The cottage, formerly the local post office, is set on a quiet, access only lane, leading down to the ancient parish church of St Eadburgha’s.

Located in the picturesque North Cotswold village of Ebrington where there are an abundance of delightful countryside walks and a popular, traditional country pub, The Ebrington Arms around the corner from the cottage. A little further along from the pub is Vegetable Matters Farm Shop where you will find locally grown vegetables, a butcher and a fabulous cafe serving breakfasts and lunches, hot and cold drinks (closed Mondays).

Ebrington is a very pleasant 5 minute drive from the medieval market town of Chipping Campden where there are many independent shops, pubs and restaurants.

There is a beautiful cottage garden, lovingly cared for with well stocked borders and lawn area with a small vegetable patch that guests may help themselves to. A fabulous space for outdoor dining, or simply relaxing & enjoying the wonderful views of the church. There is a separate patio area with table, chairs and DIY charcoal BBQ.

Stairs – guests are advised that care must be taken whilst ascending or descending the stairs. There is a stair rope on one side as well as strategically placed static handholds. Where the bathroom meets the main stairs, care should be taken as the steps meet at an angle, and they are on a slightly different level. The stairs continue past the open plan bathroom, to the bedroom door. This creates 3 different levels with different angles and care should be taken when moving between the bedroom and bathroom, up, down and across, as well as using the stairs in general. There are 3 sensor lights, low down, to assist with lighting up the steps at night time.

Bedroom – Beautiful beamed ceiling with a king size bed and two bedside tables, a fascinating antique steamer chest with hanging space and a separate chest of drawers.

Bathroom – Freestanding bath with ball and claw feet and shower over, WC and ceramic wash hand basin. Sensor lights around steps to bathroom & main stairs.

Access to the cottage through a wooden side gate with parking for 1 car just beyond the cottage. An established garden, laid mostly to lawn with well-stocked borders and a small vegetable patch which guests may help themselves to. There’s also an area at the end of the garden with table and chairs with DIY charcoal BBQ, plus lockable storage for 2 pushbikes.
