Chipping Campden was a thriving and wealthy market wool town. It is now one of the most popular towns in the Cotswolds, with tourists visiting all year round to take in the beauty of our surroundings. Are you planning on staying with us? You may be interested in learning about some of the most popular places to eat and around Chipping Campden that are well worth a visit!

Places to eat in and around Chipping Campden

Whether you’re wandering around the old market town for an afternoon of sightseeing or spending a special weekend relaxing in the Cotswolds countryside, Chipping Campden caters for all with its wealth of places to eat. The High Street boasts more than 15 different places to dine, offering a wide range of high-quality cuisine both locally sourced and from around the world.

Let’s take a look at some of our personal favourites, both in the market town itself and a short distance away.

Da Luigi Bistro, Chipping Campden

Da Luigi’s is a family-run Italian bistro offering honest food and drinks in the heart of Chipping Campden. Marco, the owner, explains that everything they cook at the restaurant is what they like to enjoy in the comfort of their own home. This ensures they offer that authentic Italian feel.

From antipasti boards for sharing, tapas, and individual starters to crispy base pizzas, pasta and ravioli dishes, there’s something for everyone.

The Maharaja Restaurant at the Volunteer Inn, Chipping Campden

The Volunteer Inn is an 18th Century pub located on Lower High Street and is home to The Maharaja, an Indian restaurant that offers a truly innovative taste of Indian Cuisine.

The menu combines a fusion of both traditional Indian favourites such as Korma, Tandoori, Jalfrezi and Rogan, as well as newly inspired dishes created by the Chef de Cuisine.

All dishes prepared at the Maharaja Restaurant have a fine regard for remaining true to the methods and tastes of their origin, using only the finest ingredients and spices.

If you are staying with us here at Honeypot Cottages, you can make the most of their takeaway service, which is perfect for enjoying their delicious dishes in the comfort of your own home away from home.

Vegetable Matters Farm Shop & Cafe, Ebrington, nr. Chipping Campden

Based just outside Chipping Campden in the Cotswold village of Ebrington, Vegetable Matters is a family-run Farm Shop and Café which is well worth a visit.

The Café is open for breakfast, a light lunch or an afternoon cream tea, all freshly made on the premises. They also serve Barista coffee, teas and a fantastic selection of cakes, including gluten-free options. If you are more tempted by the main menu, also look out for the specials board. It’s updated weekly and always includes a vegetarian option.

If you are staying in one of our Honeypot Cottages and fancy a take-away or a quiet night in, you don’t have to miss out! In the Farm Shop you will find fresh, locally produced seasonal vegetables, mainly grown on the family’s own local farms. Many other items are also available to buy, such as locally grown seasonal fruit, fresh flowers, locally produced milk, artisan bread and butter. Have a look on their Instagram Page for mouth-watering pic of foods and shop info.
