Cidermill Cottage, Chipping Campden, Cotswolds
Cidermill Cottage captures the romance of old Chipping Campden, with centuries-old character, an open fire and a sun-filled private courtyard just a short stroll from the village’s historic heart. Originally built as two country cottages at the turn of the 18th century, its history remains wonderfully evident in the exposed beams, original wooden floorboards and characterful details throughout.
The bright kitchen combines a traditional, ornamental cast-iron fireplace, craftsmen-built cupboards and a solid oak dining table, while the double-apex sitting room opens onto the garden and centres around an open log fire — an especially atmospheric place to unwind after a day in the Cotswolds. Two king-size bedrooms retain the cottage’s original floorboards, creating comfortable and characterful spaces for up to four guests.
Outside, the enclosed south-facing courtyard is a real highlight, with a decked seating area, barbecue and a charming Cotswold stone and brick outhouse, as well as undercover bicycle storage for exploring the surrounding countryside on two wheels. Beautiful St James’ Church is close by, while the shops, pubs and restaurants of Chipping Campden are just a two-minute walk away. With the village on your doorstep and the countryside beyond, Cidermill is a place where history, comfort and the pleasures of a slower Cotswold stay come together.
