Children In Need weekend is always well supported in Chipping Campden – a stunning little town in the North Cotswolds – and this year was no exception!
The Volunteer Inn hosted a 24 hour darts marathon where 9 locals played around the clock in teams of three for a whole 24 hours.

For a few weeks prior to the event, local people and businesses were approached for prizes for a grand raffle which would take place at the end of the 24 hour darts marathon.

The darts started on the Friday night where the players were supported by a full pub cheering them on whilst watching the Autumn rugby Internationals!

The Saturday evening saw a few different fund raisers going on, including a ‘chance your lucky dip – wine or water challenge’, guess the total number scored by all 9 throwers and ‘attempt to throw 3 darts into a £5.00 note from 3 different distances’. Only 1 person managed to do this & he kindly donated the £5.00 to Children In Need!

Thank you to many people who donated (48) prizes for the event. These ranged from a stem of sprouts to, beauty treatments, vouchers, hampers & various 3 course meals for two. Businesses, locals and holiday makers really got involved in many aspects of this worthwhile money raising event.
The Volunteer Inn are always keen to raise money for a variety of charities & local causes and they did the town proud raising £1,700.00 in the process (with more sponsorship money to follow).

The event was a huge success and plans are already being discussed for 2015!
