Wixey House is a Grade II listed Georgian style home. It is situated in the residential area of the High Street, fronted by a parking area and wide grass verge with water pump. 250 years old, Wixey House was once owned by local grocer Herbert Wixey. His shop was in the property on the corner which opened in 1863 and is now a private house. Wixey House was for many years a bakery.

The property has been renovated to a high standard and is now a beautiful and comfortable holiday home with high quality furniture and soft furnishings. There is full gas central heating. Children welcome within these holiday lets. Cot & highchair available on request for an extra charge.

Sitting / Dining
The sitting room is an attractive room with double bay windows. There are two sofas and two armchairs. Fitted bookcase with a range of books and games. Wood block flooring and a large rug in front of the stove style gas fire. Flat screen LCD TV. DVD player.

The dining area offers a lovely, craftsman made solid oak dining table with seating for six people.

Hallway / Kitchen
Guests enter the house into the lovely oak paneled hall with wood block flooring. Doors lead off the hall to the sitting room, kitchen and courtyard garden. A wide staircase leads to the first and second floors.

Bespoke kitchen with painted cupboards and drawers with solid beech worktops. Flagstone floor and exposed Cotswold stone wall. Inset porcelain sink with mixer taps. Rangemaster cooker with five gas hobs and electric ovens. Hotpoint washer/dryer, Neff dishwasher, under counter fridge and freezer. Iron and ironing board.

Bedroom One
Situated on the second (top) floor and reached via a landing, Bedroom One is a large sunny room with fantastic craftsman made solid oak half tester bed (6ft wide) and matching wardrobe, two chest of drawers and bedside chests. There is a leather armchair and foot rest and a Hairdryer.

A door leads to an en-suite cloakroom with period style wash basin and toilet.

Bedrooms Two and Three
Bedroom Two and Three are on the first (middle) floor and are reached via a landing.

Bedroom two is a lovely, light and sunny twin room with two large windows. Two craftsman made solid oak single (3ft wide) beds with matching solid oak wardrobe with drawers, bedside cupboards and a large mirror.

Bedroom three is a bright room with (5ft wide) craftsman made solid oak bed, matching solid oak bedside chests and wardrobe.

Bathrooms
Bathroom one is off the landing on the top floor

Stunning, fitted bathroom with walk-in shower, free standing roll top bath with hand held shower attachment and toilet. Oak flooring and a beautiful fitted oak vanity unit with lighting over.

Bathroom two is off the landing on the middle floor A period style freestanding roll top bath, wash basin and toilet with high-level cistern and chain pull.

From the entrance hall, a door leads out to the back enclosed courtyard with wooden decking (slippery when wet). Circular wooden table and chairs for six people. DIY barbecue.

There is public parking in the lay by (unnadopted road) at the front of the house and in the street opposite with no charge and no time limit.

Notes:

3 nights are charged at 80% of the full weeks rental

4 nights are charged at 85% of the full weeks rental

5 nights are charged at 90% of the full weeks rental

6 nights are charged at 95% of the full weeks rental

30% deposit of rental rate for full weeks booked (40% Xmas / New Year).

Remaining balance due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday (12 weeks for lets over 3 weeks).

50% payment required for short breaks.

Refundable security deposits are charged at some cottages.

Where there are open fires or log burners, a basket of logs is included in the price – more logs available for a reasonable charge.

The town has a greengrocer, delicatessens, a post office, a library, a wine merchant and many other independent retailers.

Welcome hampers – we can put you in touch with local suppliers & ensure that hampers are in a cottage for your arrival!

Extras such as flowers and balloons can be arranged for special occasions or surprises.
